Luke is the co-founder and executive director of 3rd Street Beat Studios: Edmonton’s first all Hip Hop dance studio. He is an extremely talented choreographer, instructor, and stage performer whose style and presence make him one of the most unique artists around. Luke’s classes are the perfect blend of fun, fast learning, innovative choreography, with a bit of humor attached to it. His styles are most influenced by the Funk styles of popping, locking, and animation, with a fusion of new school and R&B; providing a wide range of styles in his classes.

Some of Luke’s credits include opening for Boys 2 Men, Shawn Desman, Massari, Ginuwine, Chris Brown, and 112, to name a few. He is also an official backup dancer and choreographer for Vancouver recording artist “Kayle”. Also, the creative director and co-founder of the annual Hip Hop for Hope benefit concert in Edmonton and the National Hip Hop competition Artists Emerge; he hopes to bring awareness and education about the positive impact hip-hop has on its youth while also while providing greater opportunity for aspiring artists in Canada. His most recent credit was working with ALI entertainment in Toronto in 2006 as their Hip-Hop choreographer, producing 18 minutes of performance for their “Make it Happen” tour. Luke has trained with members of the Electric Boogaloos Suga Pop and Poppin Pete as well as the Originality Lockers out of Korea and is continually honing his craft for the love of the dance.

Luke’s inspiration came from watching performers such as the Electric Boogaloos, the Gogo Brothers, and Umin and is always training to better himself as a  choreographer, producer,  and as a mentor for all the students he teaches.

Luke is also a creative, dynamic and spontaneous director who pushes his performers to the next level. Combining a keen knowledge of dance and theatre, as well as a passion for teaching, he has influenced the lives of all those around him. Luke’s work is characterized by its numerous collaborative projects including the Hip Hop For Hope Benefit Series, the Artists Emerge dance competition & The Shadow Twins Co. Luke is dedicated to advancing the presence of hip hop in our culture, directing initiatives to bring hip hop into the community and performance opportunities that introduce todays youth to the arts. Luke co-wrote the Hip Hop Saved my Life China tour.
